A friend and I were chatting about that crazy weather Texas had this winter. It’s quite a bafflement that the Lone Star State, proud and resourceful as it be, unyielding against hurricane and hailstorm, was shaken by a gift of nature so unassuming as snow. Now, don’t get me wrong, I may be native mountain loving Californian, but I dearly love and admire Texas. I also know that snow is a deceptive killer to the unprepared. I am just reminded, I guess, in the blindsiding nature of events and happening these recent years that we are not always as in control as we think, and that's a part of living we forget about when we've been comfortable too long.
